One of the most beautiful thing to not be missed in life is to see the sunset from the dessert. I’ve been thinking to do that when I was at Luxor, but the idea of riding the camel or horses to the dessert was unpleasant for me, I had a bad experience after the ride at Giza, hoho…other that perasaan takut of course, the smelly camels, the itchiness on my body the one I hate most! Allergic.. So what we did was, we went to the banana island on felluca, the small boat, something like yatch. After bargaining like crazy with the felluca owner, and we got the price that we want, so we took a ride to the island, well the wind was blowing to the south at that time and we wanted to go to the north, so it took like ages for the felluca to sail and finally we decided to swap to the speed boat since it already dark. I really enjoyed the scenery of the dessert, the sunset, the wind, it was so romantic...hmm..hmmm..

I told the 2 boys about the banana island, I don’t know whether am too tired or blur, I read in the lonely planet book and told them that the banana island is just a small island and only have 1 palm tree, so they believed me, but when we reached the banana island, it was completely different…kekekekke….mampos aku kena kutuk macam nak mati oleh 2 orang tuh! Actually the banana island iss a delta, where they plant bananas, macam kebun pisang la, siap la derang tunjuk cam mana pisang tu berbuah la..jantung pisang la, and we acted like we never see it before…kekkee….and they gave you a plate of bananas after that and we all eat like monkeys, seriously the taste was really good and I don’t know what kind of banana is that, macam pisang berangan pun ada jugak… So dengan muka tak malu nyer…siap la I and si panjang mintak pisang masuk dalam beg bawak balik…hehehhe….

It was hard to captured photo in the felluca especially during the sunset, goyang sana sini ( alsan, alasan, alasan, heheheh ), but that the truth ok…kalau guna vr pun belum tentu gambar cantik okay….It was amazing experience to cruise along the Nile, the dark water Nile.

Wah cepat tul update nooooo bagus aaa.... Mon 21-Apr-2008 10:18

When was the last time you took a train for travel? I cant recall myself, well probably when I was 18, journey from KL to Penang with my friend. Hmm... after 10 years, I took a train to Luxor, the distance is about 800km and it will be 10 hours journey. Reena already booked a night train so that we can sleep on the train and when we reach Luxor we can straight away visit all the temples. We took the Metro, in town commuter, something similar to STAR lrt in KL to Cairo Train Station. The train was delay and stop at of the stations in between and we reached Luxor at about 10am the next morning. Our hotel was just across the street of the station. Bagusnya…tak payah Jalan jauh-jauh..hehhe…

Sharp smell of horses shits and urines jump in my nose ..yuck..ewww….nasib baik ada shawl and can cover my mouth, well..dekat sini famous la denga kete kuda, to took people around, taxi bermeter pun ada jugak. One thing, you have to really good in bargaining for the fees. Bargain sampai nak mati, shopaholic by default is good at doing that, heheh… So after take a nap for a while, mandi-mandi dan rasa segar sikit, we all pun start la nak Jalan-jalan, so naik la kete kuda lepas bargain cam gile nak gi Luxor Temple, actually Jalan kaki pun boleh…tapi sebab baru sampai and not so sure of the location maka naiklah kete kuda yg busuk jugakkk...

The temple was amazing, an it was located at the east bank of the river, masuk je sana….whooo…whoo…all the gigantic statue…mak aii…cam mana derang buat nieh…angkat guna apa? Gajah? Hmm..mana dapat gajah kat padang pasir..hhmm…later I will google in discovery website! We don’t have any tour guide while exploring the east bank, so we just refer to the lonely planet books and the book was awesome. Really informative and helpful in almost everything about the place.

They discovered the temple on 1400BC and at that time, people already build something on top of the land, I saw one masjid on top of the temple, not being use anymore. The temple was so huge and you still can see the original colours of the pictures and writing on the ceiling but at the walls and pillars the colours already faded away.

Coptic Cairo and El Khan Khalili

When I show this photo to my cousin, his first impression was…whooo….besarnya….and he was so amaze with the architecture of the mosque. The Mohammad Ali mosque located at the Citadel of Cairo, it was build by Mohammad Ali Pasha and it took about 30 years to complete. He build the mosque in architecture style of the Ottoman and according to our tour guide, there is another mosque at Turkey which is similar to this mosque.

I really love the courtyard area, the place for wudhuk and something unusual was, there was a tomb of Mohammad Ali in the mosque. Currently the mosque only be used for Friday prayers and during other time, it will be open to visitors. The interior of the mosque is really amazing.

After spending sometimes there we went to the Coptic Cairo, the hanging Christian church and after that we went to the Jewish Church. Then, the favourite time for the shopaholic, the shopping time…hehehe… went to the famous El Khan Khalili, the bazzar and spend about 3 hours there, bargaining and get lost in the crowded area as welll. Something that I like at this place was, they way they sell the spices, jual timbang kati…berlambak-lambak…mesti ada taste of habuk jugak la I rasa…hehehhe. I hate the time when we were lost at that area, we walked so far by the busy roadside, I felt as if I’m completely in different world, finally we just trace back our path dan Berjaya kembali ke Jalan yg benar….yahoo…and called the tour guide to pick us and send us back to Al-Maadi , oh..that is the area of Reena and Mon place, Al-Maadi, a very nice place, something like Bangsar area in KL.

Sakkara and Dashyur

On the second day we went to Sakkara pyramid, this is the oldest pyramid in Egypt, not as famous as Giza and it took about 40 minus drive form Cairo to this place. I really like Sakkara compared to Giza for it unique structured and less people selling stuff and bugging you while you enjoy the scenery and landscape around there. After that we went to Dashyur, in here you can enter the pyramid, but take a deep breath, because you have to climb up the pyramid, takut tau….and the path to go down inside was too small and you have to go down backwards. If someone fart along the way, then matilah….

Before heading back to Cairo we stop and a local restaurant and had our lunch, this time we tried the local food called Khusairy, the discovery channel define this food as poor people food, it is mix of rice, pasta and beans, the taste like nasi goreng to me, hehehe…maybe too much of new taste and my tongue unable to differentiate the taste anymore.

Back to Reena and Mon’s lovely house, they had small party that night, Reena cooked all Malaysian delicacies like mee hoon soup and kuah lotong, yumm yummm

Cairo, Egypt

Long Journey in the desert
The Giza
Toing toing
View all 12 photos...
Arrived in Egypt after 10 hours flight, 3 hours transit at Dubai make me really tired. The weather was hot during that time, end of winter season. Hashim, Mon’s friends pick us at airport and took us for quick lunch and coffee, when we arrived at Mon and Reena’s house, they tuan rumah was not there, they are on their way back from Sharm el Sheikh for vacation. So we just shower and took a nap. When the tuan rumah arrived, they took us out for dinner, typical middle east food, bread, meat, chicken and pickles, I really love the appetizer, well the portion of the appetizer were really big so Mon advice us to save our stomach for the main course. After that they took us for huffing puffing session, seesha…but we were so tired and my eyes half sleep during that time, jet lag, 6 hours different from KL.

Mon and Reena booked a tour guide for us for the first 3 days, to take us around Cairo, so the next morning, we went to the most famous pyramid, the Giza, we took the camel and went through the desert and it took about 45 mins to reach the pyramid, my first experience riding the camel, whoo….takutttnya….I screamed when the camel stand up and during the time it bend down…scary woo…so the boys kept laughing at me…hoh… the weather? Damn hot and the humidity is zero, you don’t feel the heat because of the strong wind but you can see your skin drying so fast.

Around the pyramid there were lost of people selling drinks, and the will offers the drinks to you and later after you drink it they will ask you to pay for ridiculous prices for it, our tour guide, Haisham already advice us not to take anything from those people.

The Giza was amazing, I felt I’m completely in another world, not the world that I used to be. So basically during the first day, we went to the Giza stop for lunch and went to the Cairo tower, unfortunately the tower was closed due to maintenance, so ambik je lah gambar dekat depan tower tu…takder lah naik.

Nirmala Birthday

Nirms and her gift
The blink blink gift
Cup cakes
View all 9 photos...
Last 2 days was Nirms birthday, Mafalafar told me when I came in the office, so as usual the party organizer will plan a surprise for her. Nirms perm her hair and it is so beautiful, I really like her new look, so after open an undercover chat room to discuss on the birthday surprise, Emy suggested we get her a chandelier to suite her new hair style.

During our lunch break Mafalafar and me went out and get the chandelier with the cup cakes, well.. very small and simple party, because today is the girl power day, our company have futsal tournament , so most of the guys go and show their skills there and all the girls have to come to the office to work.

After signing the card and arrange the cakes…yay.. surprise…hehhehe…well after that of course we will have out blink blink session…photo shot, pose here and there then we print out the photo and stick it at our cubicles.

I wonder what will happen to the office if the guys left us here for more that one week, imagine everything turn pink in colour, flowers everywhere, oh…the worst ever, teddy bear at each tables, power puff stickers…hmm….

To Nirms, happy birthday, wish you all the best!

Titanic

I can’t remember when was the last time we had a nice fine dinner, yesterday my darling called and we planned to have a nice fine dinner, the most difficult part was to choose the place and what we fancies for the occasion, so while talked to him I fliped my chick flick magazine and tried to look for a nice restaurant or bistro that we can have a good foods and quiet environment, so we no need to shout to talk to each other.

Finally we decided to go to The Ship, and I told him that there were new outlet opened somewhere near Taman Tun and we should checkout that outlet. So after maghrib and go through a massive traffic jam along Jln Tun Razak, I reached his place around 9ish and we headed to Taman Tun, so my beloved bf wanted to check another place there and make me a super women driver , turn here and there without signals, make one way as two ways, well just make the area like my dad territories and I told him, eh awak nasib baik tempat nie “yang” punya territories tau…so selaku ex wives dia, I boleh sukati je buat macam jalan sendiri… An as usual he will said…Hohhh….

The best part was, after checking the other place at Taman Tun, I drove around the new happening area near the main Tmn. Tun market and looked up for The Ship restaurant but we didn’t found any sign of it and suddenly we saw a sign of TITANIC, and both of us looked at each others a laugh….hehehhe…sorry shanggg…kekeke… kira sama la jugak kan, Titanic tu kan kapal…muahahha… So make the story short, we drove to DU and again be a typical Malaysian driver, cilok sini sana and I said, Shangg..look, now almost 10, nanti kitchen close and we might end up makan dekat uptown jer, and he replied, I tak kira before you go for a long vacation I will make sure we have a fine dinner…Hehehe…

So sampai sana terus we makan like ang ang…ngappp…ngappp… I had a good time sweetie.. so relaxed and romantic…muah muah…

I have my fine dining here, alone..huhu! Baru buat baked salmon..yummy. Tapi takleh share ngan ciklan.. Sat 15-Mar-2008 19:50

We had impromptu birthday celebration for Kumara today, at first we wanted to get a secret recipes’s cake but when I went to stress mall, there were one bakery shop and they do have birthday cakes as well. The head count of my team is increasing now, so we bought 2 different size and flavour cakes. I called Malar and asked how old is Kumara so that I can asked for the correct candle, and she didn’t know how old is he, hehehhe… see how ignorance the two girls in the team

When I arrived with the cakes, Malar asked Dev to join Kumara for the smoking session with Pete, so we quickly decorate the cakes and light the candle, but the guys took so long to came back and the candle burned out, and we had to blow it by ourself. When they came in to the office, we just asked Kumara to cut the cake. Happy birthday Kumara…bila nak belanja we all makan steam boat nie…hehhehe….

View all 9 photos...
Sing a song a sing session with my work mate, we went to Redbox Low Yat to celebrate few occasions, farewell and promotions. Sepatutnya Benny kena belanja, we should just said “ thank you Benny “ like what Wong said. Macam biasa janji pukul 12 tapi semua orang datang lambat, Benny paling berkobar-kobar datang paling awal on that day.

It was a good package, with the superior room, good foods, yeah, it only cost Rm16.90 per head for 3 hours session, eat all you can! Like usual, Cecuhan and me will conquer all Indon songs and will put a flame at Hafz, heheh..tercabar…tercabar….and Zack will remains with his lagu orang tua, Benny with his chick flick songs, kekeke… and Wong with his broken heart songs and he got lovely voice and when he sang it full of emotions, I hardly heard Lawrence and Tay voices, suara emas betul la…

I had fun and we should do it again guys.

Budak Kecik and Alaskan King Crab

View all 6 photos...

One beautiful evening, after maghrib prayer, budak kecik went out and pick up the book worm at the nearby book store, for dinner with their friend, they had fun, chatting, gossiping, giggling and eating. Suddenly, he asked about the photo of Benny who turn to be a tiger, and the story begin here.

One of my friend told us there is one sea food restaurant who has the Alaskan King Crab, and budak kecik was hunting for the crab for almost a year, so after we finished our dinner, Lawrence drove us to the restaurant, and when we walked in, I saw satisfaction at budak kecik’s face, yeah…finally he can see the crab live, and it just near his place, but there is one and only obstacle, the restaurant is non halal, hehehhe…. The price is RM238 per kg, and I wonder how much it will cost for each crab, because when I watched deadliest catch, each crab weight for about 5kgs. Whooooheee….

So on the way back from the place, I suggests so many way to cook the crab, beli bawak balik then I pinjam kuali kawah my mom, and letak tungku out of his place, then cut the crab and cook inside there, and that nite, budak kecik busy browsing to find the best way to cook the crab. When I met him the next day, he still can’t take out the crab out of his mind, aduh…up to the extend when am stretching my hand, he said, ha..jari2 ketam..hoiiii….samakan I ngan ketam…shiann I…bencii… So anyone who know where in Malaysia, he can get halal Alaskan crab, please buzz me. Shiann dia.

mak oi..besarnya ketam..takut pulak nak makan.. Mon 25-Feb-2008 02:38
